Year 6 Writing Booster Pack

Contains ten PPT writing lessons which can be used as group intervention lessons or for the whole class. The lessons are aimed at helping pupils to develop the skills specified in the year 6 writing assessment framework. The pack contains eight stimulating writing tasks which cover a range of text types enabling pupils to practise ‘writing effectively for a range of purposes and audiences’. Each writing task contains an example text and follows the format: discuss-analyse-write-edit. The tasks are listed below: Four non-fiction tasks - Write a recount - Write an information text - Write a persuasive letter - Write a review Four fiction tasks - Write a character description - Write a setting description - Describe atmosphere - Write dialogue Also included are the following PPTs: - Spelling Tips and Tricks to help students develop the skills needed to learn the spellings on the Years 3 to 6 statutory word list - Improving Handwriting to help students work out how to improve their handwriting through self-assessment
