What does music sound like around the world? Let’s tune in and find out!

Music Around the World introduces young readers to the global language of music, exploring how it’s made, what it means, and why it matters. Designed to support reading progress across three levels, this comprehension pack helps learners grow from early reading skills like retrieval and sequencing, to deeper thinking skills such as inference, vocabulary reasoning, and author’s intent.
Across all three levels, readers discover that music exists in every culture and is used to celebrate, tell stories, and express feelings. They’ll meet instruments like the djembe (Africa), panpipes (South America), and sitar (India), and learn how different sounds can create different moods. Fun facts are woven throughout, including the materials instruments are made from and how music brings people together across the globe.

What’s included:

  • Three black-and-white reading texts (Starter, Standard, Stretch)
  • Matching comprehension question sets
  • Answer keys with visible skill tags
  • Built-in traffic light self-assessment system

From rhythm and melody to meaning and mood, explore how music brings us together!
