Primary PSHE - Year 3 - Respectful Relationships Scheme of Work

This 6-week scheme of work is taken from the EC Publishing Primary PSHE scheme.

Our curriculum builds progressively, leading to this Year 3 unit on Respectful Relationships. In Year 1, pupils explored the concept of family, identifying the special people in their lives who love and care for them. In Year 2, this understanding deepened as they learned about the importance of polite language and the value of being kind and helpful to others.

In this Year 3 unit, children will build on that foundation by learning about role models and the people they admire. They will revisit the use of polite words, exploring them in more depth, and begin to understand the diversity of family structures, including two-parent, single-parent, blended, and foster families. They will also consider how families support their physical and emotional wellbeing, and be introduced to the concept of compassion, extending their understanding of care and kindness to all living things.
