What did homes look like in the past? Let’s find out!
This Homes Long Ago comprehension pack explores how people built different types of homes depending on where they lived and what they could find. With three carefully differentiated texts (Starter, Standard, Stretch), learners begin with core reading skills like retrieval and sequencing, before progressing to vocabulary, inference, cause and effect, and author’s intent.
Across all levels, readers discover that people have always needed places to live. They’ll learn about caves, mud huts, yurts, and stone houses and how these homes kept people safe, dry, and warm. They’ll also explore the idea that some homes stayed in one place, while others moved when people did.
What’s included:
- 3 differentiated reading texts on the same topic
- Matching comprehension questions for each level
- Full answer key with skill tags
- Traffic light self-assessment
- Black-and-white, print-friendly format
From caves to yurts, explore how humans made home wherever they went!
