Why is the Structure of the Mass Important? – KS3 Catholic RE Lesson

This fully resourced and engaging lesson explores why the structure of the Mass matters to Catholics today. Aligned with the KS3 Catholic Religious Education Directory (RED) and based on the Source & Summit Year 7 textbook, this lesson helps students understand how Catholic worship today links back to Jesus, the apostles, and early Christian traditions.

Through accessible explanations, structured activities, and opportunities for reflection, pupils examine the key parts of the Mass – especially the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist – and explore how each part helps Catholics grow in faith.

Perfect for KS3 RE teachers looking for a clear, ready-to-use lesson that encourages thoughtful learning and links belief with practice.
