**These 90 slides of lessons (5 per poem) will prepare teachers looking to begin to teach AQA’s new poetry anthology, Worlds and Lives. **

They are designed to promote student’s enjoyment of the poems as well as ensure they can meet all Assessment Objectives of the mark scheme.

**For each lesson, you will get 5 slides: **

  1. A Do Now to hook students into a core big idea or context for the poem
  2. Reading activities for initial exploration of the poem
  3. A slide on the poet, giving students information on their influences and inspirations (this could be printed for students to stick into their books and highlight)
  4. A guideline page for exploring the language and structure of the poems and annotating these in anthologies. With ‘big and little’ ideas to explore.
  5. A summative big question to help consolidate understanding of the poem and promote engagement with them. **

**Pairs with the ‘Worlds and Lives Scheme of Work’

Author is an experienced English teacher and leader, having taught this anthology for two years and marked the paper as an AQA examiner for 7 years.
