This resource aims to highlight the importance of resilience and integrity, as the two key pillars of being a positive male in society.

The assembly goes through examples of when you may need to use your resilience and integrity and discusses the pitfalls your may experience along the way. It settles finally on the threat of misogyny and the influence of Andrew Tate.

Importantly, it stresses that Andrew Tate is not all bad. He has a number of redeeming characteristics which is what makes him dangerous. Young people have to be able to discern between those who appear to be positive but actually are spreading a toxic, harmful message.

The talk ends with the importance of role models. It is useful at this point if you point out that if you were hoping for students to complete a piece of work, the first thing you would do is show them an example of a good one. Therefore, in a similar way, who you choose as your role model is almost definitely what you will turn out to be like.

Throughout the talk, it is useful to stress the idea that students should imagine the people who could potentially be mistreated as their mum, sister or friend etc. I found this helped with them empathising with this ‘hypothetical’ person.

I hope this helps. Best of luck.
