This is a week’s long planning unit based around the amazingly inspirational short film - The Ridge. The film follows Danny Macaskill’s ascent and descent of one of the Black Cuillin mountains in Skye. The resource includes a PowerPoint presentation and all the resources needed. There are opportunities for discussion, descriptive vocabulary work, using figurative language (metaphor, simile, alliteration, hyperbole, personification and onomatopoeia. There is also the opportunity to read a poem and identify features and to write a poem. This is a great unit and an amazing one to hook children who are into mountain biking.
