The Merchant of Venice William Shakespeare lesson that explores the next scene of the play (Act 1 Scene 3) as we analyse character, structure, plot and theme, looking at Shylock Elizabethan context, including how Jews and Jewish people were treated in Europe at the time, and how stereotypes were prevalent in literature and society.

A very useful way to begin the play for both KS3 and KS4 students preparing GCSE English Literature. Fully differentiated throughout.
