Using this resource:
Print a copy of the animal characters, cut the individual cards out and display them around the classroom. Students will need an answer sheet each, or they could work in pairs. They will then work out each character’s secret code by counting the tens and ones and writing the three separate numbers below each character. This is a great opportunity to check children’s understanding of counting tens and ones of numbers to 50. You could run this activity as an Escape Room challenge or as a lesson activity. Once children have learnt their numbers to 50, you could revisit these challenges as retrieval tasks to review prior learning.
