So SAD, SO BAD:
People are afraid to download computer programs.
This negates the tremendous potential writing and distributing programs has.
BBC BASIC for windows has made writing and publishing programs possible.
TES accepts large programs with a lot of data.
While it is still hard to think of and write programs, no one downloads them!
This is discouraging, especially since of the advancements have finally made
large distribution possible.
THE PROBLEM:
The internet has prevented direct sending of programs because they look like
viruses. They have gotten adept at screening for them. You can send BBC BASIC
CODE but not interpreted programs that will just work.
TES lets you send them in zip folders, but you get a warning if you want to
run them. You have to give permission. This stiffles the whole amateur computer
programming thing.
SOLUTIONS???:
I have offered programs I have toiled over through the years (It is hard to think
of a worthy subject.) Can you think of a solution?
