Excerpt from the text analysis response:

…The purpose of the text is to motivate the students to follow their instinct when it comes to making career choices and be brave enough to make the unconventional ones. This is shown through various phrases throughout the speech, such as “So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK.” Jobs is a well-known, successful individual, and considering he decided to follow his gut, even though it was a drastic decision, automatically motivates graduates to follow their instincts, even if it is an unpopular or drastic decision. The use of the word ‘trust’ pushes the students to have faith in themselves and follow the path they wish to follow, knowing that it will all work out in the end…
