This resource provides a collection of five engaging and adaptable rugby drills designed to develop key skills in evasion, handling, attack, defence, and contact. The drills are suitable for use in PE lessons, games sessions, or sports studies classes at KS3-KS5, and can be easily differentiated to cater for students of varying abilities and experience levels.

The resource contains detailed descriptions and diagrams for five rugby drills:

4 Colour Transition (Evasion): Focuses on spatial awareness and reacting to defensive cues. Players score by reaching designated zones while evading defenders.

Gate Passing (Handling): Develops accurate passing under pressure. Attackers pass through “gates” (cones) while defenders attempt to intercept.

Aussie Rules (Team Attack): Emphasizes kicking as an attacking strategy. Teams score by kicking the ball into designated zones or through posts.

Box Defence (Team Defence): Improves defensive formations and communication. Defenders work together to prevent attackers from scoring within a marked area.

Narrow Channel 4v2v2v1 (Contact Skills): Develops safe and effective tackling and rucking. Attackers attempt to pass through a narrow channel while defenders attempt to stop them.
