This resource is a full lesson (PPT and resources) ideal for year 11 or year 10 revising the poetry anthology. This lesson focuses on The Manhunt and compares it to Dulce Et Decorum Est on the theme of pain.
Each of the 7 lessons follows the same format to support students with their learning and will include:
- key quote revision
- key context revision
- exploring themes that could be given for that poem in the exam
- worksheets for students (printed from PPT, check the ‘notes’!)
- how to compare other poems to this poem
- 3 key quotes compared to another poem on a given theme
- 2 exemplar paragraphs
- task for students to find the success criteria
- time for students to write their own paragraphs using that criteria
- knowledge recall check
