How does Rembrandt’s use of light and shadow (chiaroscuro) contribute to the mood and emotion of his paintings?
Choose a Rembrandt painting that you find interesting. How do the colors, lighting, and brushstrokes create a sense of drama or realism?
Rembrandt is known for his portraits and historical scenes. How does his approach to depicting people differ from other artists of his time?
While Rembrandt is not primarily known for landscape painting, some of his works include natural elements. How does his depiction of nature compare to traditional landscape paintings of his era?
Visual Art Activity:
Create a Rembrandt-style artwork: Students create their own artwork inspired by Monet’s style.
Compare and Contrast…
Students compare Rembrandt’s work with that of another baroque artist.
Multimedia Activity:
Students use their digital skills to upload video clips where people discuss Rembrandt’s artwork and philosophy.
They are also required to research and provide links to virtual tours of exhibitions featuring Rembrandt’s art
