The concept is simple, travel around the UK, as a class, using words read as fuel. Once you have reached each destination, there is a themed surprise to keep learners motivated.
This resource includes short pdf to introduce the challenge, and editable ppt version, as I know teachers will have their preferred reading logs and way of running the challenge.
Ideas for an interactive display can be as simple as big UK map with a pin for the class location, word-o-meters or mileage charts.
