This KS1 resource focuses on the theme of kindness, encouraging young learners to explore positive behaviors through poetry.
Children will read two acrostic poems titled “Be Kind”, which showcase simple examples of how to be kind in everyday life. After discussing the poems, children will be provided with an easy-to-use template to create their own kindness-themed acrostic poems. This activity promotes creativity, literacy skills, and social-emotional learning by helping children reflect on how to show kindness to others. The template guides them to think of words or phrases for each letter of “KINDNESS,” making the task fun and manageable. The final poems can be decorated and shared to celebrate kindness in the classroom.
