I think this is an informative leaflet that parents would find useful. To reply to janishindman's remark below, one of the pages uses 'she'... so seems ok to me. Maybe less clumsy than 's/he' or 'the child' all the way through?
I felt instantly annoyed that this advice leaflet for parents used the male gender to talk about the child in general. This is absolutely unacceptable and needs to be addressed.
