This resource is designed to support phonics instruction in preparation for the Phonics Screening Check (PSC).

Pages 1–3 provide a comprehensive summary of words from the past 11 PSCs, grouped by similarity. These form the basis for quick, structured 10-minute daily phonics lessons.

Teachers can use the pages directly, via a flipchart for whole-class instruction, or print them as individual booklets for each child to use over a six-week period.

Each lesson follows a consistent format:

1. Review sounds on the phonics mat (“Can you find…?”).
2. Read real words using sound buttons.
3. Decode and read alien words.
   • Pages 5–45: CVC, CVCC, and CCVC real and alien words, with mini quizzes at the end.
   • Page 46 onwards: Real and alien words grouped into phonics families (e.g., ai, ay, a_e).
   Perfect for daily phonics practice and PSC preparation.
