This game is a great way to practice for the Phonics Screening Check or for reviewing and consolidating Phonics from Phase 2-5.

Included in this resource:
a Space themed game board
blank card to write your own words
18 sheets of real words
18 sheets of alien words

The words vary in length, three letter words to multisyllabic words.

Based on past Phonics Screener check word lists.

Print out the game board and laminate.
Print out the words on card and cut them out.
Roll the die, move the number you have rolled.
If you land on an astronaut - pick up and read the real word.
If you land on an alien - pick up and read the alien word.

Go around the board until you have collected 5-10 cards.

This game can be played in a group, 1 to 1, in pairs.

You can use it for independent activities, group activities, reading intervention groups, tutoring, homeschooling, after school clubs.
