Topics include: The Industrial Revolution, Colonialism and Imperialism, World War I, The Roaring Twenties and The Great Depression, World War II, The Cold War, Decolonization and Independence Movements, and The Civil Rights Movement.
Stage 1: Students begin by matching ten key vocabulary words with their definitions, laying the groundwork for a more comprehensive grasp of the upcoming text.
Stage 2: Students independently or collaboratively read the informational text, either in pairs, small groups, or centers.
Stage 3: Comprehension is tested with six multiple-choice questions, ensuring that students have grasped the material before progressing.
Stage 4: Students dive deeper with a case study, reading independently or within their group.
Stage 5: Another set of six multiple-choice questions tests students on their understanding of the case study.
