Students examine how the environment of the Western Front made it difficult to transport sick and injured soldiers away from the frontline. There is a focus on the use of stretcher bearers, horse wagons, motorised ambulances, canal barges and railways.

This lesson has been updated in line with the amended specification and exam questions ready for the 2025/6 examinations.
