This powerpoint (including answers) contains a lesson which could be used for transition or for KS3 introduction to music genres in German. This lesson contains an introduction into music genres (mostly cognates) and giving simple opinions in German, and the exercises included are games such as SPLAT, beat the teacher, was fehlt, and a matching exercise, listening exercise (teacher to read out) and a speaking task. There is also a glossary which can be printed out for support. The additional file is a word document with the ‘Find Someone Who’ activity.
This lesson is ideal for a transition lesson for year 6s or for an introduction to music genres in year 7. Please note that this is NOT suitable for cover work as a German teacher would need to model the language.
