New KS3 Hinduism Unit that includes PowerPoint-led learning through engaging and well-designed lesson sheets. The PowerPoints are well-planned and visusally engaging to promote maximum knowledge retrieval and evoke great interest from the learners.
The 10 lessons are a combination of beliefs, teachings and practices. If you’d like your unit to be shorter, you can ‘pick and choose’ the lessons relevant to your students.
The PowerPoints aid a ‘plug in and play’ approach to teaching, benefiting both subject specialists and non-subject specialists alike.
In addition, the Powerpoint and the lesson sheets now include all resources that the students need to access an engaging, high-quality education.
Lessons include:
L1 - Intro to Hinduism
L2 - Beliefs About God
L3 - Karma and Rebirth
L4 - Hindu Scriptures
L5 - Worship
L6 - Stages of Life
L7 - Symbolism
L8 - Groups in Hinduism
L9 - Morality (Virtues)
L10 - Hinduism in UK
Each lesson includes:
- Homework slide
- Review of prior learning
- Title, objective and date
- Key Words
- AO1 - Knowledge and understanding
- AO2 - Analysis and evaluation task
- Plenary
Scaffolding is included in the Powerpoints themselves and also in the lesson sheets to ensure maximum engagement and comprehension. Challenges (extension tasks) also exist throughout the unit to further enhance skills and understanding.
There are a variety of knowledge, understanding and evaluation tasks throughout the unit, including video and debate activities that the students always love - year-on-year.
Please give feedback! I am always happy to respond to comments - whether positive or constructive - this will help to improve the quality of my resources in the future and, more importantly, the quality of pupils’ RE/RS education in general - which is what we’re all here for!
