All About Bones Slide Show
A 40-slide presentation to introduce the human skeleton and its functions, the names of bones, invertebrates/vertebrates, and some bone facts. It is suitable to use over several lessons.
Vocabulary Tab Book
Pupils create a tab book with the definitions of 5 words (bones, joints, muscles, tendons, cartilage). Cut and paste definitions are provided.
Vertebrates and Invertebrates Sorting
Students sort 12 animal picture cards into vertebrates and invertebrates.
- Option 1: Print the animals and headings on card. Cut out the headings and have students sort the animals into vertebrates and invertebrates.
- Option 2 (cut and paste): Print the animals and sorting sheet on paper. Students sort the animals on their sheet and glue them in place.
Skeleton Task Cards
20 multiple-choice question cards to print and cut out (colour and black and white options). An answer sheet for students to complete is included.
Label the human skeleton
- Version 1: Skeleton with 10 cut-and-paste labels (on separate page). Labels focus on simple names for bones e.g. thigh, shin, shoulder blade.
- Version 2: As above, but labels use the actual bone names.
- Version 3: This page has the skeleton for pupils to write their own labels/add arrows.
Skeleton Fact Page
A writing page for students to note 4 facts about bones/skeletons. Included with and without writing lines.
