This free resource is handwritten on large squared paper to help children learn how to set out their maths work further supporting their learning of the column method. This is part of a wider set of handwritten resources available for supporting learning column addition and subtraction in KS1.

Showing children how we expect their work to look helps them develop good habits to make learning column method easier as well as supporting their presentation. There is a gradual build up in size of number, from not crossing to crossing the 10s barrier and independence in setting out the method.

There is space set out at the top for the short date and includes a title. These can be trimmed off if they do not fit with school layout policy.
