Hello,
I am an experienced teacher of children aged between 5 -11 years. Currently teaching in Year Six I have prepared children for both SATS and the transition from primary education to high school.

This story-writing resource has been developed to build upon your child’s writing skills. It embodies skills required for Key Stage Two SATS for which your child’s writing will be either internally or externally moderated. This resource is targeted at narrative including detailed planning and structured story lines. It will also support children as they move towards the transition from primary to high school.
The resource is suitable for children aged between nine and thirteen dependant upon reading ability. It is written in a chatty style and offers good advice throughout. It will require a little adult direction to ensure that the child understands the weekly tasks.
On completion of all the work to a good level a special reward might be agreed between parent and child as a weekly incentive. This could be a film night, board games evening, home spa day, pizza making etc
The resource is designed to cover eight weeks work; however, this can be adapted to your needs and several story ideas could provide a much longer period of work during which your child could practise the skills encouraged.
