This activity explores the Supreme Court case Kellogg Co. v. National Labor Relations Board (1940), which tested whether a company could change workers’ shifts without first negotiating with their union. The Court ruled in favor of the National Labor Relations Board, saying that Kellogg had to respect workers’ rights under federal labor law. The case reinforced the importance of collective bargaining and showed that employers must involve unions in decisions that affect working conditions.
