This engaging thought-sorting activity helps primary students recognize the difference between helpful and unhelpful thoughts. By colour-coding different thought bubbles and reframing negative thoughts into positive ones, students will develop a growth mindset and emotional resilience.

How It Works:

  1. Students color-code thought bubbles to show which ones are helpful (e.g., “I’ll try my best!”) and unhelpful (e.g., “I can’t do this!”).
  2. They rewrite unhelpful thoughts into positive, encouraging ones using a simple chart.
  3. Encourages self-reflection, positive thinking, and confidence-building in a fun and accessible way.

Perfect for: PSHE | Wellbeing Lessons | Growth Mindset | Emotional Literacy | KS1 & KS2
