Ideal for learning about Europe in geography class, European countries and capital cities multiple-choice quizzes are suitable for a range of learning grades, at any time of the school year. The quizzes and worksheets feature all European countries and capital cities, including some countries, such as Armenia, which lie only partly in Europe, and some island communities such as the Faroe Islands and Guernsey. Students can develop their knowledge of the geography of Europe in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The set works well as a whole-group team activity, and is also perfect for pair or small-group learning. Revisit regularly - students are particularly keen to see if they can beat their own points record, and are really motivated by their developing knowledge.
There are two quiz challenges:
= Challenge 1 gives the country as a prompt, with four possible capital cities to choose from.
= Challenge 2 gives the capital city as a prompt, with four possible countries to choose from.
The card numbers for Challenge 1 are in the top right-hand corner; Challenge 2 in the top left-hand corner so that the cards can be organised and sorted easily. Laminate the cards if possible: they’re easier to manipulate, and remain in excellent condition for years.
There are four written recall worksheets with two challenges:
= Challenge 1 prompts with the country, and students add the corresponding capital city.
= Challenge 2 prompts with the capital city, with students adding the corresponding country.
Before playing for the first time, it’s useful to show students a world map so that they can visualise the location of Europe globally, as well as the location of each individual country, and where it lies in relation to other countries across Europe. This gives students a real-world context to their learning.
The Lively Learning Classroom has a wide range of geography resources, including special offer bundles and freebies.
THANKS AND ENJOY THE QUIZZES!
