This lesson examines the methods developed during the First World War to treat infections and broken bones, for example with the development of the Thomas Splint, x-ray machines, wound excision, the Carrel-Dakin method and amputations.

This lesson has been updated in line with the amended specification and exam questions ready for the 2025/6 examinations.
