In this hands-on art workshop, students will explore the process of transforming a simple pencil sketch into a charming felt character. Using a step-by-step approach, participants will sketch a cute cat, refine their design, and then bring it to life with colorful felt, scissors, and glue.

  • Sketch paper and pencils
  • Erasers and rulers
  • Colored felt sheets (various colors)
  • Scissors
  • Fabric glue.
  • Black marker for facial details.
  • Templates (based on the cat sketch in the image)
    Steps for making:
  1. Introduction (5 min):
    Show examples of the final product (like the felt cat in the image). Briefly discuss design and crafting.
  2. Sketching Your Cat (10 min):
    Guide students to sketch their own version of a simple cat similar to the one in the image. Focus on basic shapes—round head, oval body, and expressive face.
  3. Creating the Template (10min):
    Trace over the final sketch onto a separate sheet to use as a template for cutting felt pieces.
  4. Cutting & Assembling Felt 2 identical pieces from each parts of the cat allowing to stick them together by leaving 1-5, 2cm gap to fit on fingers(25-30min):
    Cut out felt pieces and begin assembling the cat. Attach the ears, legs, tail, and facial features using glue or stitching.
  5. Finishing Touches (5 min):
    Add details like whiskers and smiles using marker or stitching.
  6. Planery: (5 min) (Show&Tell or write WWW and EBI’s) about their work.
