This is an ESL English lesson, tailored to the new Pearson Edexcel (2023) ESL GCSE examination series. The lesson focuses on the third unit: Employment.
Students recall the present continuous tense as a starter activity. Then, they identify the features of a formal letter by looking at audience, purpose and tone. Finally, they create a plan for their own formal letter which they can do as homework. Most tasks are differentiated to accommodate those with a basic level of English, to the more proficient speakers.
Students get the chance to practice reading and writing skills in this lesson.
