In this lesson an extract is used to analyse the theme of Persuasion using the character of Squealer and his use of language to manipulate the other animals. The extract is taken from Chapter 5 of the novel. The extract has activities to support weaker students to look closely at language features. There are a range of tasks to include language and structural analysis.
A writing activity is also included in the lesson which also looks at the theme of persuasion.
