A 6 lesson unit covering the basics of ecosystems for Y7, including full assessment and revision lesson:

  • What are ecosystems and how are they interlinked?
  • What are tropical rainforests? How are they under threat?
  • What development opportunities to rainforests provide?
  • What is deforestation and why does it happen?
  • How will biomes be managed by humans in the future?
  • What is desertification and how is it managed?

This is a comprehensive unit designed to introduce Y7 to the fundementals of ecosystems. Each lesson is designed with a pedgogy of enquiry and scaffolding of knowledge, delivered to disadvantaged students without cultural capital.
