This is the first lesson in a sequence of lessons on Desert Island Discs for students following the EDUQAS GCSE Media Studies specification.
This introductory lesson covers the history of Desert Island Discs, its presenters, the format and structure of the show, some controversies and criticisms and a case study (Malala Yousafzai), before going on to look at a past paper-style question that students can attempt. I’ve also included a standalone quiz (an html file) that can be downloaded and double-clicked to play.
