Creative writing introduction lesson that explores the opening to The Signal-Man and starts a unit of work on short stories whilst looking at creative writing. Students explore narrative hooks, and the key elements of short stories, before analysing how Charles Dickens opens his short story for his readers. A useful lesson for both KS3 and GCSE English Literature and English Language students.
