This unit covers two half terms. Students will be introduced to Malorie Blackman’s, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’. They will develop their Language Paper A01 and A02 skills, whilst discussing some major themes that exist in our society today. These lessons draw on clear PSHE and SMSC links and aim to promote a love of literacy through exploring Big Ideas and topics relevant to their world. In term 2, they will finish the novel before segueing into Language Paper 2 skills. Students will then compare a series nonfiction literature and develop their own transactional writing skills. The emphasis will be on form, tone and register and comparing and contrasting, with a focus on AOs 2, 3 and 5.

This is a SOW completely ready to go. You will only need to remove any school branding.
