A new range of PowerPoint resources aimed at assisting teachers with the delivery of the Cambridge International A-level Business specification. These slides are designed to support the delivery of 7.1 Organisational Structure. The slides commence with an analysis of the relationship between business objectives and their organisational structure. It then examines a range of different organisational structures including functional, hierarchical and matrix structures, as well an assessment of why sometimes a business might structure themselves based around geography or product/brands. This section also examines many key concepts such as delayering, chains of command, span of control and authority. It then procedes to examine the impact of delegation and accountability before looking at control, authority and trust. It concludes with an examination of line managers and staff managers and the potential for conflict between them. The slides contain the Quick Fire Five questions and also a practice extended answer question (both with suggested solutions).
