These slides are designed to support the delivery of 3.1 The Nature of Marketing. The slides commence with an analysis of marketing objectives and how they help in the achievement of the wider corporate objectives. It then examines the many different types of market including consumer, industrial, local, national and international before assessing ways of measuring market share and market growth and their importance to a business. The features of mass and niche markets are then analysed before the presentation examines the role and importance of market segmentation and the three techniques of geographical, demographic and psychographic segmentation. It concludes with an assessment of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and the importance of building relationships and developing customer loyalty. The slides contain the Quick Fire Five questions and also a practice extended answer question (both with suggested solutions).
