AQA English Language Paper 2 Section A introduction lesson for the new 2026 exam papers which have some changes from the old pre-2025 papers.
We explore the key skills needed to master Q3 in the exam, analysing an extract from a specimen paper.
We explore Q3 and the specific extract from text, looking at how the writer uses language to describe the train crash. We look at short student answers to see how they can improve and good student answers which includes said improvements, which in turn allows students to re-draft their Q3 answers and then peer assess them based on success criteria.
This lesson will lead into further lessons about writing effective language analysis as part of a new unit of work/scheme of work that is being developed.
