AQA English Language Paper 1 Q5/creative writing/Section B/narrative writing lesson that explores how to use commas and the different ways that commas can be used to effectively punctuate sentences.

14 marks are available for AO6, and comma splicing is often prevalent in student writing. This lessons enables students to recap and build on their understanding of punctuation, before they embark on writing a new narrative piece on the topic of a life-saving rescue.

Students work together in groups to recap and consolidate their learning regarding how commas are employed accurately and effectively.
