Theme 2 on the AQA GCSE specification. Can be easily edited to the new AQA or Edexcel specification. Lesson on purchasing clothes which scaffolds up to students making their own role-play speaking tasks in pairs. All images removed so as to adhere to copyright laws. I suggest you add images to the choral repetition slide and the listening slide after that to help with duel coding.

Tried and tested lesson on “acheter des vêtements” including:

• Suggested scheme of learning.
• Clear demarkation of ‘I do’ ‘we do’ ‘you do’ tasks.
• A robust do now activities (to be printed) which is easy to edit (multiple choice)
• Choral repetition with key structures and phrases.
• Easy listening task (letters and numbers) to increase student efficacy / sense of self mastery.
• Order in the chaos listening task, works as a scaffolded dictation.
• A reading comprehension which requires students to listen and teachers to read out the missing words (listening). All words necessary are at the bottom of the task for support.
• Sentence builder can be used as a trapdoor - students write a sentence and they take it in turns to guess each other’s sentence.
  An collaborative writing task: students create their own role-plays around purchasing clothes in pairs.
• A sentene builder which can be used for mini whiteboard tasks or scaffolded writing / consolidation.
