A unit of work with the ultimate focus on translation into French. Pre-reading vocabulary and syntax manipulation tasks, a text, comprehension tasks, grammar and micro-translation tasks leading to three paragraphs for translation graded by difficulty. Activities include communicative practice, matching, word completion, syntax and morphology, and gap-fill.
This would suit sixth form students (advanced level) or first year university/college students and could be used in class or for independent practice. All the answers are provided. It will form part of a whole bundle of units for AS and A-level French which will be an invaluable supplement to your chosen course.
There are two versions, a pdf and an editable Word document. The unit consists of eight pages, plus answer key.
This resource is designed to go with the Pearson and AQA A-level French specifications in England , but could be issued to any A-level, college or undergraduate French student. It was written by Gianfranco Conti and Steve Smith.

Fantastic resource - brilliantly thought out, and closely related to AQA spec. Skills progress throughout document and increase in difficulty as students gain confidence. I used this as HWK tasks to support work in lessons, and resulted in the students completing the final translations closed-book in timed conditions in class. Both students and I were v. impressed with the progress made! Will definitely purchase the other packs - excellent value for money. Would just note that in the word.doc one page of the answers referred to a different unit. Thanks very much :)
