This is list of 9-1 GCSE grade descriptors based on the type of question that is being asked. It can be used to assess a students understanding by looking at what type of question a student can answer. It is in order of grades and is divided into the main areas that questions are based on:
The grade descriptors are 1. Diagrams or Symbols, 2. Uses-Real world or Scientific, 3. Interpreting Data from a Table, Graph or Diagram, 4. Variables, Required Practicals and Working Scientifically, 5. Science Knowledge, Ideas, Models, 6. Science Processes-Recognising, Explaining, Understanding or Applying and 7. Calculations.
