Welsh question of the month - Daily Welsh ppt for Primary Welsh learners aimed at KS2. For the 15 minutes of welsh a day target. Each slide has a question and a language pattern to learn with vocabulary so that the learners can build up a sentence. Display questions and ask children to practice asking think pair share questions or display whilst playing welsh games as a visual aid.

Welsh resource. Suitable for KS2 and KS3 second language. Contains sentence builder for opinions and reasons, recall tasks to practise the sentence structures and vocbulary and a self-assess review task to gauge understanding.

This uses the North Wales forms of the verb - there is a separate document available that has South Wales forms A resource to support learners to form sentences correctly in Welsh. Includes the following forms in all persons of the verb: Present Tense Imperfect Tense Future Tense Conditional Tense (would / should / could / would like) Past Perfect Tense Perfect Tense I have (+noun) e.g. Learners match ‘We’ and ‘could’ that would lead them to the answer ‘Gallen ni’

This lesson is for Year 3-4 (LKS2) learners, teaching the question ‘Beth wyt ti eisiau bwyta?’ (What do you want to eat?) in Welsh. This could be an extension of ‘Beth wyt ti eisiau?’, ‘Beth wyt ti eisiau wneud?’ or even ‘Beth wyt ti’n hoffi?’. Learners will complete their tally chart, recording which food their peers would want. They can then create a block graph to present their results. This cross-curricular lesson uses mathematical skills as well as developing learners’ Welsh language skills and oracy skills. This resource includes a PowerPoint presentation; a party food word mat in Welsh; templates for learners tally charts; templates for block graphs; large squared paper for learners to draw their own block graphs.

This is a collection of Welsh-English crossword, codeword and wordsearch puzzles using a reduced set of words suitable for children, students and intermediate-level learners of Welsh. The selection used in the library comprises 2500 words in both languages thus avoiding more complex, obscure or little-used words. We’ll leave the more challenging words for another occasion. The basic concept of most of the puzzles is that if the clue is in English, the answer is in Welsh and vice-versa. This is unashamedly designed to improve vocabulary skills and to help reinforce learning many words appear more than once.
