<p><strong>Bubble writing - cursive handwriting scaffold</strong></p> <p>Like many primary school teachers I have tried a variety of handwriting schemes with varying degrees of success. Having thought through many common problems with handwriting I have developed a simple scaffold that places a bubble either side of the line to support letter formation. This simple scaffold provides a guide to consistently form cursive letters and ensure each letter is uniform in both height and width. Children are able to leave equal spaces between words and see clearly whether or not there is enough space at the end of each line for the next word they intend to write. I have created this based upon the tortoise letters, giraffe letters and monkey letters idea. Each has it's own section. Hope it is of some use. My kiddies love it. xccw joined is the name of the font this has been created in as used in our school. Please be aware that you will not be able to view the cursive font unless it is installed on your computer.

A booklet of activities that practice handwriting patterns. I have adapted this resource to suit my and my learner's needs. I have used this in my role as an LSA and pupils seem to enjoy the activity of looking at different handwriting patterns. I also using Morrell's handwriting books to support the handwriting sessions I with KS3 and KS4 learners.

This is a step by step guide for an adult delivering a handwriting intervention to pupils in KS2. If you use a different font at your school then you can easily edit this on the word versions of each document, by highlighting the words and selecting your own school's font on your computer. This resource is aimed at pupils in KS2 who are not forming letters correctly and/or who are not joining letters correctly. This resource should be seen as a revision of existing knowledge and is not intended to be used at KS1. <br /> The resource has four pages:<br /> 1. Instructions<br /> 2. <p>This yellow handwriting paper gives children clear boundaries for their letter sizes.</p> <p>For year 3 children who struggle, I print this as A3 size so they can get the hang of their letters all sitting within the yellow coloured area. Descenders go below the yellow and ascenders reach above.</p> <p>Over the year, we print the sheets onto A4 paper. Then I use a highlighter pen in the children’s books to allow them to continue to practise their letter formation.</p> <p>I have had some mind blowing results!</p>

<p>This bundle allows pupils to practise their handwriting from a very basic level.<br /> This pack is appropriate across <strong>both</strong> KS1 and KS2.<br /> There are 3 documents provided in this bundle.<br /> Each individual document is 39 pages long.</p> <p>The 1st document is ideal for those children in your class who who are really struggling with the formation of their individual lowercase letters. Each letter that is provided has arrows indicating to the child where they should start and where they should finish. It also indicates the order in which the child should be forming their strokes.</p> <p>The full alphabet has been printed in font sizes 50, 40 and 30.<br /> This is so that you can easily print the sheets separately if you wish.</p> <p>Towards the end of the pack, there is a separate section.
