<p>If you’re looking to explore your school’s provision and curriculum in Expressive Arts and Design (EAD) for your early years children, this audit pack gives you the perfect starting point. Aimed at primary school settings, the audit can be used by EYFS leads, year 1 leaders &amp; teachers, KS1 phase leaders and curriculum leaders to explore how effectively your school gives children broad and exciting EAD learning opportunities and where there are chances to develop this even further. <p>EYFS Expressive Art and Design Progress Model</p> <p>This EAD progress model lists the small steps of skills and knowledge to be taught in F1 and F2, linked to the concepts of drawing, painting, printing, collage, sculpture, textiles, music, singing, dancing, roleplay and independence as well as how this links to KS1.</p> <p>It was a really useful document for both EYFS practitioners and subject leaders to have during our recent Ofsted in October 2022, where we were rated Outstanding in all areas, to be able to show how our EAD curriculum in EYFS ensures children are gaining the skills they need to be successful beyond EYFS.</p> <p>Our EYFS curriculum was designed by using Development Matters as a starting point, which we then added to in order to create an ambitious and engaging curriculum.</p>

<p>We are delighted to offer two mini publications as an extension of the EYFS: A Framework to Support Curriculum Planning publication.</p> <p>They will further enhance the ideas provided in the publication, however they can also be used in isolation to provide inspiration for the teaching of ‘using loose parts’ and ‘painting’ within the expressive arts and design part of the EYFS curriculum.</p>
