<p>This is a full lesson resource on the Christian festival of advent. The lesson looks at the ways in which advent is celebrated both now and in the past and the significance of the time for Christians. The lesson includes an optional advent candle design task with a template provided. There is a differentiated story activity using either the Bible text or a simple version ideal for lower age or ability students. We also offer a <a href="/teaching-resource/advent-tutorial-assembly-christmas-re-12766713">shorter tutorial</a> / assembly version of this resource and a <a href="/teaching-resource/christmas-jumper-day-template-12766730">Christmas Jumper Day</a> design activity.</p>
<p>This is an easy to follow power point lesson. The lesson has been planned to last for about <strong>60 minutes</strong> however it is <strong>fully editable</strong> meaning that like all of our lessons, activities could be added, removed or changed. No further planning, printing or preparation is required before teaching this lesson.</p>
<p>No previous knowledge in this subject area is needed, the lesson is easily deliverable by someone who is not a subject specialist or an experienced Religious Education teacher.</p>
