This lesson is based on a TED Talk by Harvard academic and tech entrepreneur Juan Enriquez. In his presentation, he suggests an interesting correlation between social media, big tech and Greek mythology.
The lesson focuses on the topic of big data and includes a Cambridge style listening exam practice test, vocabulary exercises and a task based discussion exercise. Almost everyone is affected by digital media and big data so your students will be encouraged to think and discuss an area of life which relates to them. Students will also be introduced to new English vocabulary and have an opportunity to develop their debating skills. Most of all, students will enjoy talking about an an engaging topic which is relevant to the society we live in today.
